A Proper Audio Panel, Like

What to include

Three things turn a round of questions into a single useful reply:

  • Your distribution and version — and your desktop, if you know it (GNOME, KDE, Sway…).
  • The output of wpctl status. That one command describes your whole audio graph — devices, streams and which of them are linked to what.
  • Whether you are running the Flatpak from Flathub or a direct build from the tarball. The two see the system differently, so it matters.

Diagnostics you can run first

The app ships self-test modes that check one subsystem each and print what they found. Running the relevant one and pasting its output is usually faster than describing the symptom:

proper-audio-panel --help

The self-test options are listed under --help as --…-selftest. They are safe to run at any time and change nothing.

Shortcuts not firing?

That is usually not a fault — shortcuts work differently here than on Windows, by necessity. See Help before reporting it.
